JOHOR BARU: The Perkeso office here is expected to move into the new Perkeso building by the end of 2008.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn said the new building, situated near Wisma Kastam is expected to complete by midyear.
He said with the new location was strategic and had a bus stops near by, making it convenient for the people to reach the office.
“I hope Perkeso will provide a better service to all Johoreans after it is shifted to the new premise,” he said adding that the new RM29mil building consists of 11 floors.

Datuk Dr Chan was speaking to reporters after presenting Perkeso compensations amounting to RM103,313.51 to 44 beneficiaries at a hotel here recently.
He said 49,160 employers were registered with Perkeso Johor Baru and it had gave outt RM22.3mil in compensations last year alone.
“This is a 9.35% increase compared to the previous year,” he said.
Among the beneficiaries was wireman Chia Nyook Poon who met with a road accident when he was on his way to work in October last year.
He fractured his right leg and two of his rib bones and could not work temporarily.
“My boss was the one who did the claims for me as I could not move around freely,” said Chia who is the only breadwinner in his family.
The father of four who claimed under the temporary loss of ability to work category said he was grateful to be able to receive the claims within a few months.
